Fruehling 2013

Our spring 2013 session starts the Saturday after Mardi Gras.  There will be six meetings on Saturday February 16 & 23, March 2, 9, 23 and 30.  There will be no class on Saturday, March 16th due to the Ben Franklin International Festival, which will be held at the Deutsches Haus.

Classes will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at UNO’s Center Austria, located in the Liberal Arts Building.  The price for new students who need materials is $150 and the price for children and returning students who have the book is $100.

Samstagsschule bei ACTFL in Philadelphia!

Your Samstagsschule Founders are presenting at the American Council on the teaching of Foreign Language in Philadelphia this weekend! We get to tell 6,000 other language educators about our efforts. Thanks to all of you New Orleanian German language learners for taking part! We look forward to sharing more with you in the future! Spring Session starts February 16!

Beginnen am 20. Oktober!

Our next round of sessions for the fall begins with Kinderdeutsch on Saturday, October 20.

The Kinder will meet Saturdays for one hour from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Center Austria on UNO’s campus (College of Liberal Arts) starting October 20, 2012.

The adult classes (ages 14+) will also meet Saturdays 10 to 11 a.m. at UNO’s Center Austria. THere is potential for Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays from 7 to 8pm (based on enrollment numbers).

There will be a Fall 2012 session!

We apologize for being so out of touch all summer! We have not set dates for a fall session yet, but we can say with some certainty that we plan to hold one. Your feedback has been wonderful, and we want to offer you (and your friends, kids…) more German instruction here in New Orleans. Stay tuned!

We meet this Saturday at the UNO Center Austria (College of Liberal Arts, LA 196 University of New Orleans).

If you still want to join us, we will accept some walk-ins. See the information below about dates and registration for the entire session.

If you would like to take a placement test, please arrive by 9:30.

Everyone else is welcome just before 10.

Willkommen bei der Samstagsschule NOLA!

We are so glad you stopped by! Classes start the Saturday after Mardi Gras, February 25th. Classes will take place at the University of New Orleans Center Austria. A total of 6 classes will continue each Saturday from 10 – noon (no March 10 or April 8).
(Class dates: February 25, March 3, March 17, March 24, March 31, and April 14)

Early registration for adults (including materials): $100
Early registration for kids (ages 4 – 14) is just $50

There will also be cultural presentations (in English) which are free and open to the public on such topics as the History of the Euro and Current Economic Crisis in Europe, Austrian Festivals, and German Cuisine. (Parents, bring your kids and stay to learn a thing or two about Germany, Austria and Switzerland.)
